Positive Representation Matters
A large percentage of the sickle cell community would attest to the lack of positive representation in the media aides in the invisibility of this community of “warriors. The lack thereof has led to myths, misconceptions, & stigmas surrounding SCD that manifests as life-threatening barriers for patients seeking care and caregivers navigating life with their warriors.
Mental Health Matters
Complications of sickle cell disease (SCD) can cause a large emotional burden contributing to 35.2% of SCD adults diagnosed with depression. Sporadic bouts with pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbance impacts SCD carriers’ mental quality-of-life outcomes. 4th Moon Productions fully embraces the "if you can see it, you can be it" movement and promotes positive imagery in film that supports the mental wellness needs of persons in under-represented communities.

Trishunda A. Mooney
Founder/CEO of 4th Moon Productions
The story of "Tooty" is loosely based on my childhood growing up with sickle cell disease. I am passionate about creating content that uplifts, inspires and unites humanity as a whole. There was a lifechanging moment I experienced while hospitalized due to a "pain crisis' that my purpose for life became clearer. Thought I'd share that story with all who will listen.
